Craftsman Bungalow Remodel

Click on a picture to enlarge it!

This remodel way done in Sacramento, CA during the 1990s - completed in 1999. The house was a 1 story 2 bedroom 1 bath with a raised foundation 5 ft off the ground. It was in a flood district. It had gas lighting back when it was fist built in the early 1900s. It had a red brick foundation, and 9 ft coved ceilings. Lath and plaster interior - no insulation. It also had a big lot with room to build on. A new garage was built prior, and it backed up to an alley behind the house.

At this time, only completed pictures are available - before photos will be scanned in as time allows.

Front view of house - decorative shingles were made in the shop. Stained glass was designed and made in the shop - inserted in two doors and in the built-in buffet in the dining room.

Designed and built trim, siding, seat with storage beneath; window bays above and below.

The entertainment center was made in-place; note picture rail throughout.

The cabinets were made in the shop as well as the mirror. Lites above the corner cabs illuminated the room at night. See additional pictures at the site below: these are circa 1999. The pics above are circa 2008 - almost 9 years later (return visit to the house after it was sold).
